Our hemp and organic cotton bedding

Organic cotton is grown on chemically untreated soil in naturally wetter areas that require less irrigation than conventional cotton. Its cultivation involves no pesticides or chemical fertilizers, which preserves biodiversity and reduces the environmental impact. Once processed into fabric, organic cotton is recyclable and biodegradable. Kipli’s organic cotton bedding is certified to the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, which guarantees that the finished product is free of harmful substances. This certification is issued by an independent organization—it is not a self-declaration.

The cotton used comes from India and Pakistan, two regions with a long history of organic cotton production. The products are made in family-run workshops in Portugal, near Porto, which have specialized in bedding for several decades. This separation between the cotton’s origin and the place of manufacture is common in the natural textile industry: organic cotton cannot be grown in Europe, but it can be processed there using local artisanal expertise. The entire Kipli organic cotton line follows this process: certified organic cotton, manufactured in Portugal, and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification for the final product.

Yes. Organic cotton is naturally hypoallergenic, dust-mite-resistant, and antibacterial. These properties are inherent to the material and do not involve any additional chemical treatments. OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification confirms the absence of harmful substances throughout the bedding set. The tight weave of the 80 threads/cm² percale fabric also limits the penetration of dust mites into the fabric, which is important for people with sensitivities. No synthetic fibers are used in the composition.

Kipli organic cotton bedding is machine washable up to 40°C for the classic percale with 80 threads per cm². The Premium flat sheet with 200 threads per cm² can be washed at up to 60°C. It can be air-dried or tumble-dried on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 60°C. Ironing is possible with a hot iron, up to 150°C. Never use chlorine-based bleach or dry cleaning. Machine washing does not wear out the percale: the cotton fiber gradually softens after each wash. The warranty covers the entire line for 2 years against any manufacturing defects or flaws.

Organic cotton bedding is designed to be part of a bedding set that is free of chemical treatments from start to finish.
